Psalms For Wednesday November 5, 2008The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Blindest Foolishness In this case, the fool is not the blundering idiot we typically imagine. He could be a Ph.D. or the president of a major corporation. He is simply one who says There is no God. Denying God is the most foolish foolishness. It leaves too many unanswered questions to be smart and scientific: * How could there be creation without a creator? Spontaneous generation has never been proved. * How could there be life that never came from life? Science says that life can only come from life. * How could there be design without a designer? There is too much to assume everything is an accident. * How could there be law (law of gravity, law of production, etc.) without a law-giver? We have many laws. If God didn't give them, who did? The only way to explain our world is to start with a self-existent First Cause from which everything else has come. Note this syllogism: Something cannot come from nothing (admitted fact). This proves it. And that something that always was is God. Isn't it much more sensible to start with a living, powerful Being as the First Cause than to start with lifeless, powerless matter?
